Statistics Celtics is officially turned the page and moved on to the 2010-11 season. A week after losing Game 7 of the finals, "Celtics have chosen Avery Bradley with the 19th pick in NBA draft tonight. Bradley, a freshman guard from Texas, was somewhat unexpected considering the needs of Celtics on the wing and the frontcourt. Number of players were available to fill these positions, but general manager Danny Ainge was elected to go with Bradley, who figures to back up Rondo Rajon at the point. 6-foot-3, 180-pounder is not a purely security point and need time to adjust to the post.
He should be able to intervene and to influence directly in the defense. Bradley averaged 11.6 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists in his lone season Longhorns. His addition, a sign that Nate Robinson, the unrestricted free agent, may not return. From 52 th to get, "Celtics chose Notre Dame big man Luke Harangody.
Harangody was one of the most productive players in college, averaging 21.8 points and 9,1 rebounds last season. The biggest questions on the game Harangody in the translation in the NBA is its lack of growth and athleticism.

Lawrence Kahn:I never would say that the Kansas players do not stick together. Cole Aldrich and Xavier Henry, who has helped lead to the Jayhawks 33-3 record and sixth straight Big 12 championship last season, went to number 11 and number 12 on Thursday night in the NBA draft.
6-foot-11 Aldrich, one of the best shot-blockers in the history of Jayhawk, was adopted in New Orleans, and then included in the trade that sent him to Oklahoma City Thunder.
Less than 5 minutes after Aldrich was compiled, Memphis chose Henry, marking the fifth time that several Jayhawks were taken in the first round.
Undrafted, but their leader and floor general, and winningest a player in the history of Kansas. Point guard Sherron Collins has been ignored as the tour, groups may inhibit their desire to put an extra weight to his 5-11 frame.
"It's disappointing," said Kansas coach Bill Self. "I can not believe that he is not one of the top 60 prospects out of this project. But, of course, not all is lost. He put himself in position where he will work harder and be more disciplined than he ever when something to show they were wrong.
Aldrich, tall player Kirk Hinrich of Kansas developed a number 7 in 2005, guaranteed $ 1,772,000, and the rookie salary scale as the total number of 11. Henry guaranteed $ 1683000 for this number 12.
Before concluding his college career as a junior, Aldrich blocked 253 shots, only five fewer than the record, Greg Ostertag. He is the ninth Kansas rebounds list with 860 and tied for fifth with 37 double-double. He came in 1038 points and joins a group of talented young players who seem to up and coming franchises in Oklahoma City.
"I think it will be a game-changer for us. I am very glad to have him in our team," said Thunder star Kevin Durant.
As sophomore, Aldrich was one of three players in Grand average of 12 double-double with 14.9 points and 11.1 rebounds. In the first round NCAA tournament game against Dayton, he had 13 points, 20 rebounds school record 10 blocks and recorded the first official Kansas "triple-double: 1.
He readily admits that defense is his forte.
"The most that my game unlock, protect and restore," he said. "I'm kind of a unique big guy who likes to walk around the explosion at the other big guys and do the dirty work. I think he can really do that well, and I will continue to work on that."
Henry, one of the first and the player to Kansas, a familiar name in Memphis. Email this son of the former Kansas star Charles Henry first determined to play their college ball there, along with his elder brother. But the brothers moved to Kansas for coach John Calipari left for Kentucky.
Smooth and rapid improvement in left hands, Henry averaged 13.4 points and 4.4 assists in his one year in college.
I am in Memphis on Monday to talk with Grizzly about it.
"I'm not the only coach in the country that did it," he said. "They asked us to come there, and I thought it would be nice for us, especially if it can help our children.
"They have a good starting 5. But they need that someone can score off the bench and make shots. X is the best player in the last two months. I think he will go there and have the opportunity to play many minutes, and legitimate double-figure scoring threat for them as a rookie. "
With 2 Jayhawks developed compensatory made the whole experience even more interesting, Aldrich said.
"Xavier, and I am very good friends. We always text each other a lot and just hang out together. We have a great friendship. He really looks at me, and I hope so, too, so it is really special offer.
Georgetown Greg Monroe Chose The Detroit Pistons' Seventh With Select NBA Draft

NEW YORK:Since then, Greg Monroe committed in Georgetown - before they played their first game in the Verizon Center - it seemed inevitable that the talented big man would one day walk across the stage in the theater at Madison Square Garden and shake David Stern's hand as the NBA pick in the first round. The question has always been at the beginning of his career, he would come - and how at the beginning of the project will leave Monroe. The answer came Thursday when the Detroit Pistons' chose sophomore from Georgetown ? 7 overall pick.
"I am very grateful, and it was a long time," said Monroe.
Monroe became a high select Georgetown since Jeff Green went number 5 in 2007. After manufacturing project takes only 2 of 8 seasons between 1999 and 2006, Hoyas already sent NBA players in each of the last four seasons.
"We've had kids who listened to the children who worked," coach John Thompson III said by telephone from New York. Among the players in the NBA, former Georgetown swingman DaJuan Summers, who was the second round to choose Detroit in 2009 and may again divide the locker room with Monroe.
"I spoke with him recently, and over the past couple of months," said Monroe, "but he just texted me and told me:" Welcome ", and I'll talk to him more clearly."
The most heralded recruit to commit Thompson spent two seasons with Hoyas, averaging 16.1 points and 9.6 rebounds during his second year. He never went past the first round of the tournament NCAA, but he was dominant at times - including 29 centers and 16 points in a Jan. 17 loss Villanova when installed in a crime in Georgetown.
He tried to build a force with Hoyas NCAA tournament loss to Ohio, showing that he was "a little more steaks." Indeed, Thompson waited Monroe more than an hour later, after Monroe had chosen to eat a steak dinner.
The holiday celebration will begin before work begins Monroe. He should move to an offense different from the Princeton-style system, which is installed on Thompson of Georgetown. Monroe acknowledged the changes will be adjustments, and it came in his pre-draft interviews with front-office staff in Detroit.
"They ask me about Princeton, and my family, and what they liked about me," said Monroe, "and, of course, relates to the defense and my athleticism. But they loved me enough to me, and I wanted to come and work , and the choice is.
Thompson was a project with Monroe, and expressed his anxiety to Monroe and his family. Monroe did not go beyond its expected range, becoming the fifth big man chosen after two guards led the project. It need not wait long, though he would have to wait longer than some of its preliminary draft of the competition.
"All together, it was a circle," said Monroe. "My name was encountered around, and it is in full swing, so is the range that I expected.
But Monroe was in the center of public attention, because it is one of the key from the perspective of the preparatory Louisiana, long before he even played in the Big East. He turned 20 years old on June 4, and what he did for two years for the Hoyas might just be precursors for the fact that come with the pistons.
"There's no doubt about that," said Thompson. "He will continue better still, to become stronger. Its best ball, of course, come."
Raptors Select Ed Davis 13th Overall

At first glance it may look Toronto Raptors replaced by one 6-foot-10 left-wing restored specialist to another. Predators have chosen University of North Carolina forward Ed Davis from 13 selected in the NBA draft Thursday raised questions about his possible replacement for the all-star forward Chris Bosh.
But the Raptors coach Jay Triano said that regardless of the future for his team in this uncertain off-season, Davis was a stunning catch at number 13. He was not the only player expected to significantly earlier in the project, he fills a hole in front of the register, that will certainly lose at least one big man.
"We did not think it will be available in 13, we thought it would be long gone, to preserve it slip, we all through our fingers that it will continue to slip another one another, and he falls right into our hands and it was great, "said Triano.
"When you look at free agents that we have with Chris Bosh, Amir Johnson, Patrick O'Bryant, Rasho Nesterovic - a 4 Biggs," he added. "What we got was a big high. Regardless of who signs and who returns and who is he great body, and he sports, and it corresponds to the trend that the NBA begins to move in the direction."
6-foot-10, 225-pound Davis led Tar Heels to be restored, with 9.6 per game, blocked shots (2,8), and was second in scoring (13.4) in its second year of the season, but suffered season-ending injury Feb. 10 in a game against Duke, when he broke a bone in the left - shooting - wrist.
21-year-old man who walked on stage at Madison Square Garden in New York, dressed in a charcoal gray suit, was asked what he knew about his new Canadian home.
"My favorite player is Chris Bosh played there," he said.
He later told reporters Toronto, he modeled his game around Bosh for the last three or four years.
"Because he is left-handed, 6-11, he can shoot, he just good all-round power forward, the third best power forwards in the game now, just a great player, model my game after," said Davis.
Whether the two had never lined up on the court together before the Raptors have yet to see how Bosh is set to become a free agent July 1, and not so much as hinted that his future plans.
Raptors president and GM Bryan Colangelo said earlier this week that with so many issues related to his list, he plans to take the best player on the board, and do not necessarily choose to replace the Bosh. Nevertheless, the similarity with Bosh obvious.
Second generation
Davis, the son of former NBA player Terry Davis, known for his jump at both ends of the floor, and uses his length and explosiveness to block shots. One weakness is his face up game.
"He must work on his jump shot," said Triano.
Twitter feed Bosh was silence after NBA Commissioner announced Raptors to choose, against the background chants of "USA! USA! "From the noisy crowd of New York. But the Raptors captain made a chirp when the guard Damion James, Texas went 24 wrote:" Congratulations aka Damion James "Big freshman, I remember when he first got to high school ...."
Davis led the ACC in field goal percentage (.578), blocked shots, was second in rebounds and 15 in the account before his wrist injury ended his time. Richmond, Va., native who trained at home with his father in the off-season, missed the final 13 games of his sophomore year, causing some to wonder if he will be fully recovered come draft time.
Raptors never brought Davis Air Canada Centre training preliminary draft, but he was considered a potential Top 10 choose for last year's draft, before going to UNC next season. Triano said Raptors officials have made numerous calls to check on the health of Davis until moments before they made a choice, and he received a clean bill of health all around.
Davis said that his father, who played 10 years in the NBA, was a huge influence on him growing.
"He prepared me a lot," he said. "He taught me a lot about this case, just really helped me understand how it should be professional and be a man, and he guided me through this process."
Elder Davis was known as a solid player, part of his son's games always respected.
"How much he worked, and how it always worked for everything he got, and all of his playing time in his career, and this is the reason why he stayed in the league," he said.
Among his Tar Heels highlights Davis was the third fastest player in school history to block 100 shots (51 games), Rasheed Wallace for (47) and Sam Perkins (50). He scored a season-high 22 points against Michigan, but also tied his career high 16 rebounds against Maryland.
Jazz Take Hayward At No. 9 In NBA Draft

Salt Lake City - Utah Jazz made their high draft to select years, then immediately had to defend it. Choosing Utah's Butler, a sophomore Gordon Hayward with the ninth overall to choose Thursday was greeted with a big boos than cheers at the EnergySolutions Arena, where the lanky forward helped lead Bulldogs' run to Final Four a few months ago.
"The only thing I hope that within two years you're not booing," Utah general manager Kevin O'Connor said Boos for the lottery selection to choose in Jazz.
Hayward was in New York for the draft Thursday night, however, aware of the negative reaction to shortcut conference with reporters, Utah.
"Hopefully, I can do some things on the site and turn those around," Hayward said.
Utah fans were afraid of the rare top-10 to get to 6 feet 8 forward who weighed all of 207 pounds. Jazz fans are also skeptical about the point guard Deron Williams of Utah, when he took his third overall, five years ago, so that O'Connor is not too bothered with the negative response.
"They told me that they boo John Stockton, too, so let's hope that history repeats itself," said O'Connor.
O'Connor acknowledged that Utah probably would have gone with a big center forward or - if there was one still available, that jazz has been rated higher than Hayward.
By the time came to select the ninth, the top-ranked big thing of the other teams that Jazz knew was very likely in the draft this year, once a star guard John Wall and Evan Turner continued - as expected - with the first 2 picks.
Hayward Jazz impressed scouts watching his sophomore season, Butler, and with the way he played, and interviews with team officials during pre-draft workout.
"We took the best player available," said O'Connor. "We believe that it is more position players and win counts for something. He was the winner, where he was."
final match of the college Hayward two points in the loss of the Duke championship game NCAA. He brought up the Bulldogs scored and restored as soon as sophomore and scored 22 points to lead the Bulldogs over Kansas State in the West regional final on March 27 in Salt Lake City.
Butler Coach Brad Stevens said communication Utah a few minutes after take a congratulatory tweet of his former player.
"Another great Butler points coming in Salt Lake City, Stephens tweeted. "I congratulate Gordon and jazz!"
He was tall and choose Utah because trade up 2 spots to get Williams in 2005. Until then, Jazz, did not take the top 10 after receiving Thurl Bailey at number 7 in the 1983 draft.
Jazz was the pick because of trade with the Phoenix made six years ago, when the sun should be a reduction of wages, and made a deal with Utah in a timely manner. It was really to get New York Knicks' from earlier transactions Nix suns and protection limit has expired, giving Utah a place Knicks in the lottery.
"We felt, as it turned out, the money. We did not have to win 29 games to get the ninth to get the project," said O'Connor.
Ekpe Udoh Not Much Of A Silver Lining

When it became clear early last season that the Warriors will not be in the playoff hunt, fans were forced to find new targets and reasons for hope. The appearance of Stephen Curry provided a powerful impetus to the success of D-League was a feel good story and win a record Don Nelson closed the season in historic fashion. But the real silver lining loss of the season is a chance to turn it on landing impact player in this draft. Since the beginning of 2010 (or earlier), fans began to fantasize about the players who could help revive the Warriors in the 2010-11 season. This long anticipated future profits on Thursday night as ... Ekpe Udoh? We have never seen Udoh against NBA competition, or almost the NBA yet, so I'll give him the presumption of innocence. Nevertheless, my first instinct gut says that this is a classic warriors get all the wrong way. Low up (shades of POB)? Check. Undersized on-site PF (shades Diogu)? Check. Fills the position - PF - relative depth (Randolph, Wright, Tolliver potential)? Check. At first glance, it looks like we spent a high draft to select Mike Dunleavy on the player's bench rotation. Many blame that goes to the weakest of the project, and the end of the season wins, which has reduced our chances in the lottery, but I can not help but feel that we just went through a brutally ugly season, and came to the end to find our silver lining is far from brilliant.
Despite the initial let down, there are several reasons for optimism. Udoh showed solid defensive instincts and skills restored Baylor. We might use more than two skills in this command - though I worry about these skills will be minimized or less of full size (and weight) competition, particularly if Nelson gives him time in the center. He seemed to be quick learner and a high IQ basketball player - obviously, good things, but the descriptions are often hung on the players who do not have the physical gifts to dominate opponents. Finally, Udoh seems professional, really happy to be here and comfortable, with its possible role. That comfort, however, may be a byproduct occurs earlier than expected - not necessarily a bad thing, but a sign that the company is Riley and to see something in him that the rest of the NBA did not. Although Curry was very easy last year, when he had slipped, Udoh seems a bit hand.
The question that will linger for the next few days (weeks? Months?) This is what will happen next. Register in its present form even more imbalanced than it was last year. The team does not have a backup guard. All that potential small forward lack key attributes for the position (size, speed, jump shot - and this is just some of them). We have a stable raw material transmits power and not-ready-for prime-time centers. Randolph, Biedrins and Ellis may not. Nothing happened so far this season to justify the expectation that we will value in response. This is a list that needs to be rebuilt around a vision, not only deprived of his talent for cash and expiring deals. Perhaps this vision will become clear shortly, but I'm not holding out much hope, until Cohen, Rowell, Riley and Nelson can be no picture. Unfortunately, there are opportunity costs for each day, the soldiers stuck in a holding pattern. While the thunder, wolves, blazers and others make steps to improve its talent level warriors circle through the same mistakes, burning fuel on the road. I can raise 2010-11 as a further recovery of the season, but now it is not clear that they planned to build something.
Thus, Ekpe Udoh, welcome to the soldiers. We do not know where you are going to play, who your teammates or coach will be, or that the billionaire will be signing your paychecks, but hey - you made it to the NBA - all can be even worse. If you can help turn this team around from perennial mat in respectable team, you'll earn our undying love. And if not, you can join us in hanging your hopes for 2011 lottery.
