The Call

 Biography :                       Call was founded in Santa Cruz in 1980, vocalist / guitarist Michael was Scott Musick and Tom Ferrier. There were Musick was born in Oklahoma. Been previously a member of the group Chicago, the aorta, and then, between 1969 and 1971, Lovecraft, the successor of the zone in the psychedelic rock band HP Lovecraft [1].
Starting with their self-titled debut in 1982, Call went on to produce a total of 10 albums of 2000. The premiere self-titled album was recorded in England, and was later recalled that the group was in the research stage at this point. It was pointed out in 1988 interview, "The challenge was compassionate album, but it probably came out as anger." Peter Gabriel loved the group so much that he asked to open for him during his 1982 "Shock Monkey" tour.
The next album, Modern Romans, was noted for its political content. Been later said: "There was a lot going on politically - Grenada, Lebanon, or the Russian government say are evil, and the Russian government will probably say the same about us. This kind of thinking inspired me to write the last lines of 'Walls Came Down".
There followed a period scene of Dreams. Were referred to it as a "call metaphysical" album. With a strong poetic sense of the text and changes in equipment, the change of a different sound. Garth Hudson of the Band played the keyboards on these first three records.
Reconciliation was recorded in summer 1985. At the moment the group is not a contract for two years, because of what has been described as "litigation" between the former record label and their Call Management Company. However, once the agreement was signed with Elektra Records, the group resumed the game and produced their most commercially successful album to date. Peter Gabriel, Simple Minds, Jim Kerr and Hudson, and former Assistant Band Robbie Robertson all guests an album that was released in 1986. Several tracks from the album became hits on the Mainstream Rock chart, and also one of those tracks, "I Still Believe" was overwritten by Tim Capello Russ Taff, and appears on the soundtrack of the movie Whoopee Boys 1986 and 1987 movie Lost Boys.
Then there was the 1987 release of the group in the forest, which was named his favorite album. [Edit]
In 1989 they released Let the Day Begin, whose title track reached #1 on the map of the U.S. Mainstream Rock. Red Moon, which included backing vocals Bono, U2, was released in 1990.
In 1996, Warner Bros. released the best Call, which featured selection of old favorites and some new songs. Two songs, and we feel this way, there were different versions of the tracks will then be considered on a solo album, Been, and in case of "feel this way", "Light Sleeper", as well as the soundtrack.
In 1997, the sky and back, was released Fingerprint Records, then a live album Live Under the Red Moon in 2000.
The Group is not currently touring. The group had fan club called the "notice" and the information contained in their newsletters in the file section of Yahoo! List of groups.
Al Gore used the "Let the day begin," as his campaign song in 2000 U.S. presidential election, and Tom Vilsack used it as his song during his brief campaign in the U.S. 2008 presidential election.
In 2009, the Oklahoma Museum of History in the history of Oklahoma Center hosted a temporary exhibit entitled "Another Hot Oklahoma Night: Rock and Roll exhibition. This exhibition will explore the Rock 'n' roll artists (including the Call), radio stations, personalities, places, and the fans, who call Oklahoma home. In addition to the facts of each story, the exhibition showed how growing up in Oklahoma affected the music. Stories were displayed in an innovative style to encourage participation by visitors and ensured that the visitor had taken a fresh look at the history of rock and roll in Oklahoma. Song Call "Oklahoma" was a finalist for the state song.
Michael Been died of a heart attack evident on August 19, 2010. He was in the Pukkelpop music festival in Hasselt, Belgium [2]. [Edit]
