Mad Men Season 4 Episode 3 TV Recap Report

Mad Men Season 4 Episode 3 TV Recap Report: This is the beginning of the new year, but Don was in an uncertain frame of mind, in the episode yesterday of "Mad Men", "Good News".
Just as the new year approaches, Don moved to Mexico sun and fun, the perfect place to forget, albeit temporarily, as lonely and sad his life has become. He makes a stop in California to see Anna Draper, and was surprised to see that she broke her leg.

She feels the pain and feel no pain at the same time, due to weeds that she smokes. Something tells Don that is not all that Anna's condition than it seems, indeed, college-age niece, Anne (so hot that Don puts the moves on her, without much enthusiasm), spills beans: her aunt had bone cancer, and fading fast .

Don decides that he wants to stay and help, but my sister Anna tells him that he has no right to care about it right now. Dawn knows she's right, so he tells Anna he has to leave after all. But it sure does not feel like Mexico now.

Meanwhile, Joan and Lane have questions regarding the planning requirements of Joan (her husband Greg, and try to understand before Greg was sent, which can occur at any time), Lane decides to send Joan flowers to make amends. Nevertheless, his secretary Joan sends the wrong signal, in the literal sense: he sent his wife in London, the message intended for Joan, and vice versa.

Apparently, it really makes things worse for Lane, as Dawn learns when he appears on the first day of New Year, in the office. He and Lane have (and yes, I noticed that Don was drunk now), and before you know, the odd couple are going to the movies, and drank and went to dinner and drinks, and even going to the club and get criticized for comedian for having a gay couple, and for drinking.

Fun stuff, of course, but Lane does admit in his sobriety fading that he and his wife are strangers and family face an uncertain future. Don is already considering marriage with Betty vessel to be sailed, and first place in the free evening with two lovely ladies in the evening, one for each of them. They head for the bachelor pad Don (I think, Hef was exactly the same in the 60's, too), and it sure looks like business partners have received their money's worth.

That's not all gloom and loneliness, though. Of course, Joan and Greg having their problems too. But, as Jeanne learns after she injured herself with a knife, Greg knows how to fix it. Somehow, in 1965, in rolls, Joan knows that her husband wants to make things work.

Don, however, looks like this is not all downward spiral in the future, until he falls to the bottom.
