Bill Cowher Faced A Very Bad Tragedy Yesterday His Wife Kaye Cowher Died:Very sad news from Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Kaye Cowher , wife of ex-Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Bill Cowher, lost her battle with skin cancer and died Friday in North Carolina at the age of 54.Ms. Cowher was a native of North Carolina - Cowhers met while visiting North Carolina in 1976 - and Cowhers moved there after Bill retired from coaching in January 2007.

Ms. Cowher played basketball at North Carolina State, and one of the first women in her native country to get a sports scholarship, in accordance with Bouchette.
