Kaye Cowher Died Todays Sad News: Kaye Cowher, (ESPN):Kay Cowher wife of former Steelers coach Bill Cowher in Pittsburgh, died Friday after a battle with cancer of the skin, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. She was 54.

Born youth Kaye Bunn, North Carolina, met Bill Cowher in NC State in 1976, where he was a football player, and she and her twin sister Faye played basketball for women. They married in 1981.

Kaye Cowher played a key role in making her husband get out of coaching in 2007 and move all their time roles, so that families can be together as they completed their daughters to school and Career college basketball.

Megan, Lauren and Lindsay Cowher in the footsteps of their mothers in the division of college basketball. Megan and Lauren played together at Princeton, while Lindsay is currently playing for Wofford.

Kaye Cowher played one season for the Stars of New York and two gems in the New Jersey League of Women's Professional Football League before it folded in 1981.

The family requested privacy and has released no information about the death of Cowher. Services will be held in North Carolina on Monday, the report said.
