Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo Officially Join “The Avengers” Information:It's official: Jeremy Renner ("The Hurt Locker") will play Hawkeye and Mark Ruffalo ("The Kids Are Alright", "1913 Going On 30") will play Bruce Banner / Hulk the movie "The Avengers."News was announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2010, with a full cast all the lead present in this case. Leading actors and director Joss Whedon brought on stage as a 3-day event came to an end.
Ruffalo replaces Edward Norton, who reportedly had a dispute over a contract with Marvel Studios.
Other members of the cast attended Chris Evans (who will play Captain America), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Clark Gregg (Agent Coulson) and Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury).
"The Avengers" is scheduled for May 2012 release in the U.S..
