"I grew up with his voice in my ear, and his choice of music was the soundtrack of my life since I was a teenager. I feel like I lost members of my family," one fan wrote on CD101 at Facebook.
Over the years, Davis was known for his Andyman-a-Thon, where he spent 48 hours in the air the annual fundraising for Christmas. Davis would get a commitment to play song requests. The event has expanded over the years at auctions and rock concerts.
Davis was a program director since 1998.
He leaves behind a wife and three sons. Funeral arrangements were pending.
