Jimmy Buffett Offers Another Musical Gift To The Gulf Coast

Jimmy Buffett said the fan pretty much summed things about all the excitement taking place Sunday evening (July 11) on the sands of Orange Beach in Gulf Shores, Alabama."I saw a sign that they said:" What would Jimmy Buffett do? Party for the oil spill! "Said Buffett." You're right! "

And this is exactly what he was doing at hosting a free concert to show support for people, business and culture of the Gulf Coast. Parrotheads flock to the concert were the party of life, while viewers across the United States were able to share the moment with Jimmy Buffett and Friends: Live From the Gulf Coast, a concert special CMT.

"Thank you all for where you came to support our good friends and neighbors - and some of my family down here, as well," Buffett told the crowd after the opening of the show "Pascagoula Run", a track from his 1989 album, went to the Lizard.

As an artist, Buffett has consistently proves that he has few peers when it comes to connecting with the audience, even tens of thousands of people who appeared in Orange Beach. 90-minute telecast was packed with songs that made him famous, including "One Particular Harbor," "Come Monday", "Son of Son of a sailor," "Changes in the temperate latitudes, changes in attitudes," "Cheeseburger in Paradise , "" Pirate Looks at Forty, "and, of course," Margaritaville ".

Kenny Chesney and Zac Brown on the plan were to appear when the concert was originally scheduled for July 1. Other commitments prevented them from participating once a show has been rescheduled for next Sunday, the concern surf conditions created by Hurricane Alex.

While Sunday's special guests were not so well known to the country's mainstream audience, Buffett is clearly an honor to represent the singer Jesse Winchester and New Orleans music legend Allen Toussaint. Buffett is comfortable in the role as a sideman Winchester performed "Rhumba Man" and "Mississippi, You are on My Mind". Toussaint put "Yes We Can", a song he wrote and produced for R & B great Lee Dorsey in the 70's.

Singer / songwriter Mac McAnally, a longtime employee Buffett and member of the group, it is assumed the role of Alan Jackson on "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere" and headed back Back where I come from, "his original song, which was subsequently covered by Chesney.

While all on the beach realized that the concert in response to oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, Buffett does not dwell on the problem. He, however, to upgrade part of the song on the "Margaritaville" states: "all my fault BP!

He also changes in the song "when the path is clear," a song from 1986 in Floridays album to close part of a television show. Songs, one of the first written with Buffett McAnally, took sharp new meaning to the message of inspiration for those who love the Gulf Coast region.

Born in Pascagoula, Mississippi, and raised in Mobile, Alabama, the concert was something of a homecoming for Mr. Buffett. At the end of the transfer, he took a little break and returned with his team to continue the concert with songs such as "Biloxi Winchester before closing the evening with Van Morrison Brown Eyed Girl".
