Kahlo was one of the most prolific artists of his time. Born in 1907, just a few years before the Mexican Revolution, it survived and polio, as well as a car accident in his youth.
At 22, she married the painter Diego Rivera - the first time - after a stormy 10-year alliance, where both artists were numerous cases. They soon divorced, but eventually married before Kahlo died in 1954.
artist's death was officially attributed to pulmonary embolism, although not autopsy was performed.
After passing his wife, the famous Rivera wrote: "I realized that the most remarkable thing in my life was my love for Frida."
After her death, Kahlo has become a celebrity yet. In 2001 she became the first Hispanic woman to put her face on a postage stamp the United States, and its work 1943 "Roots" set a record in the highest-selling portrait of Latin American artists in 2006.
It has also been the subject of 2002 film "Frida." Directed by Julie Taymor Broadway "The Lion King", movie stars Salma Hayek as Kahlo and Alfred Molina as Diego Rivera, and was nominated for six Academy Awards, including Best Actress nomination Hayek.
