Unemployment Extension Vote, July 20, 2010

Unemployment Extension Vote, July 20, 2010:The Senate put forward a bill on unemployment extension today after a vote of 60-40. All Democrats, except Ben Nelson of Nebraska voted in favor of the bill, along with two Republican senators.

Votes: read aloud, and when the clerk reached the newly appointed senator Carte Goodwin "yes" vote came applause from the Democrats in the building. Currently, the unemployment rate increased coverage bill was passed by another vote in the Senate, which is also expected today.

This is a bill of millions of Americans have been waiting for, and we here at TPI have been documenting the state of the bill, who was detained for a long time for the GOP.

Through this project, the federal program of unemployment benefits will be extended until the end of November, the store 4 at the federal level and two levels of federal support for the extended benefits program, a total of up to 99 weeks in the hardest-hit states.

This bill will be retroactive to June 2, when the program of unemployment coverage expired. Democrats are looking to quickly pass the bill in order to be then signed by President Barack Obama.
